The brief was pretty detailed in terms of the renovation. The client wanted to expand the rear space and create a house that fits a family’s Needs. There are 3 children, 2 adults, and 2 elderly people at home. They want to enlarge the kitchen, renovate the bathroom, increase the indoor living space and build a second floor. In terms of style, the brief for the renovation was always meant to be quite contemporary.
Our first priority is to add a front crossover and a driveway, which makes a new parking space in the front yard. Then in the backyard, adjust the direction of the rear garage to make it easier for cars to enter and exit. For the ground level, the kids’ and elders’ bedroom are towards the front of the house, while the living spaces and noisy spaces towards the rear, encompasses an open plan kitchen, living, and dining which connects directly to the outside. The second floor is for young parents, which provided them with a relevantly private space to rest and work. Especially, they can use their study nook to get away and work quietly, do the household bills or decompress. Finally, A balcony is also designed on the second floor to provide a place for outdoor activities.
